These drinks, such as regular sodas, have absolutely no nutrients and are very high in calories. There many studies that show a direct link between consumption of soda drinks and obesity in children.
After consuming soda, children lose their appetite for food and this causes a deficiency of vitamin A, calcium, and magnesium. No amount of supplements will make up for real food in their regular diet.
Sugary drinks, such as sodas, contain phosphorous that actually causes depletion in the bones. Girls who consume excess sodas while growing up are prone to breaking bones.
All that sugar increases tooth decay as well. The high sugar levels in the blood can cause disorders and even diabetes! It doesn’t stop there though. Within 20 minutes of consuming a soda, the acids in the soda start to soften the enamel of the teeth. Some dentists report the complete dissolution of the enamel of the front teeth of teenagers.
The acids in sodas create an imbalance of the stomach acids; prolonged consumption can be very painful. They dehydrate the body just like coffee, alcohol, and tea. Therefore, increased consumption can have an adverse effect on the digestive system.
Sugary soda drinks also contain high amounts of caffeine. Caffeine is known to be addictive and this upsets the neurobalance of the brains of growing children! Aspartame in some diet sodas is toxic to the brain as well as it causes great disruption in the endocrine system.
